Iris Lopez was born and raised in El Paso, TX. She graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelors in Multi-Media Communications and a Minor in Spanish. She began her broadcasting career as a day side on-air personality at a top 40 radio station, 104.3 HitFM. She then made the move to Television news. She began as a day side reporter and was then hired as a weather anchor for KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas. In her time at KVIA, Iris created an on-air franchise that highlights positive stories in the community. Sunday Funday Moments are written, produced and edited by Iris and air every Sunday morning and afternoon. Iris is also the founder of a local non-profit organization, 'Mija, Yes you can.' Her involvement in this organization has given her the experience and drive to pursue a career in social media and public relations.
